Today is my birthday. I have travelled all the way around the sun since this day last year.

This morning, Finn gave me my present - an amethyst bracelet and necklace … beautiful.

I said “Wow! You bought me my birthstone, that’s brilliant”

He said “Oh. Did I? I didn’t realise. I bought you this because it says “Peace” on the box”.

Could i love him anymore?

Over brunch today,

“Mama, if you burnt potato waffles, and served them to a blind man, would he be able to tell?”

Over breakfast today, Finn asked why it is that Penguins don’t “deep freeze”. We agreed that’s a question best answered by a qualified professional so he’s off to school to ask Mrs Newman, his science teacher.

This morning, bleary eyed in bed:

“You know what I want mum? I want a really really really long tail. A tail so long that when I fall asleep at night, I could bite the end of it, and then I would fall asleep and then it would take all night for the pain to travel up to my brain so it would wake me up in the morning like an alarm clock. Perfect.”

I’ve had loads like this recently…
